Primary vs Secondary Research

What’s the difference between primary and secondary research?

Primary Research

Primary research is the data you collect firsthand. It’s generally more expensive but allows you to make sure you get the specific data you need to make good design decisions.

Secondary Research

Secondary research is when you use research completed by others. It allows you to build on existing work you have confidence in and concentrate your primary research on areas where there is not enough insight for your own projects.
